A Family run company for over 33 years

At Ray Hannaford & Son we never like blowing our own trumpet, it’s not what we’re about.

What we will say is that we’re a well-established, Plymouth based, family run building firm but we’re confident enough to add ‘we’re very good at what we do’.

Our team of professional builders and carpenters are skilled, reliable, and trustworthy and we understand that it’s our job to work with you to deliver exactly what you want for your extension, renovation or new build. We will always take the time to sit with our clients to discuss the job properly, taking time to understand expectations, budgets and timings and to answers any of the questions that you might have in advance.

At Ray Hannaford & Son our reputation is important to us and it’s why we still have the ‘Hannaford’ name above the door. We’re proud of the work we do here in the South West, the reputation we have and the name that we work under and it’s why you’ll often hear us say … ‘Ray Hannaford & Son. Remember our name, building is our game.’

Ray Hannaford spent fifty years in the building industry, working across the whole of the South West as a builder and carpenter. In 1982 he set up his own construction firm and three years later his son Mark joined the company and at that point it became a genuine family business.

Today, Mark runs the business with fellow family members Stuart and Ryan and more than ever the Ray Hannaford & Son name has an impeccable reputation across Plymouth, Devon and the rest of the region.
